Product Details
Description›
Bukhara rugs are built on one of the most instantly recognizable patterns in weaving, rows of repeating oval medallions, known as guls, marching across the field in tight, disciplined order. It's a pattern with real presence, more architecture than decoration.
This piece is worked in blue rather than the deep reds Bukhara is most associated with, a less expected color story for a pattern this established. Every medallion is hand knotted individually, no two guls landing with quite the same tension or spacing, which is exactly what separates a hand knotted piece from a printed one.
