A small rug with a big personality, woven in the classic Afghan tribal diamond tradition.
Columns of rust red diamonds run the length of this kilim, framed by sage blue, deep navy and soft salmon on a warm ivory ground. Every color comes from natural plant based dyes, which is why the reds stay rich rather than harsh and the blues carry that slightly uneven depth you only get from vegetable pigment. Serrated edging and stepped borders give the whole piece the rhythm of traditional loom work.

Construction: Flatweave, handwoven on a traditional loom
Material: 100% wool on a wool warp
Dye: Natural vegetable dyes
Shape: Rectangular

Pattern: Tribal diamond medallion repeat with stepped borders
Colors: Ivory ground with rust red, navy, sage blue and soft salmon
